Band-what ?

Now I remember why I don't update my blog very often.

I am rubbish, but I *think* I've got it sorted now.

Next time I am going to take Homer Simpsons advice - " If at first you don't succeed - give up "

I had a look at my typepad account yesterday (for the first time since I set it up) and apparently I am 450 %  over my bandwidth allowance this month.

?

What the bloody hell is bandwidth ? After looking it up on the internet I'm still none the wiser. I think it may be a parallel universe.

Luckily, I don't think typepad are charging if you exceed it, for the time being, so I am just going to bury my head in the sand over that one.

Thank you so much for your comments and offers of help re the banner, you are all so kind and lovely and I love you very much. : )

I have quite a long list of things I am unable to do....

Can't drive

Can't tell my left from my right

Can't sit still for 5 mins unless I'm crafting

Can't understand written instructions

Can't make pastry

Can't learn to love housework

Can't say no to a party

Can't sing for toffees ( something I seem to forget whenevr there's a Karaoke machine around )

Can't learn to think before I speak

and

Can't do banners.

However, I can do messy desks

Dennis.

My this weeks WIP, all he needs is his tail (which I've lost) and he's done. The pattern for Dennis is in this book, he's made from a thrifted hand towel and his t-shirt was one of Billy's stretchy babygrows. Cute.

Have a lovely weekend !

Banner shmanner.

It's taken me over 2 hours to upload my new banner, and it's still too big.

I think ?

Hmmph !

I'd much rather be doing this

A little clutch purse with detachable brooch.

There will be a patchwork variation of this purse in here, due for release in October this year.

How exciting !

'Can't think of a title' title.

Friday WIP

Working on a new banner for blog.

Things I'm enjoying this week.

This book, this illustrator, this place - just enter your name to go and have a look around. Cute.

This is fun.

More cute illustrations.

And more.

And more ( illustration link is at the top of the page, third link from the left ).

It's also rather lovely to look around here, and some very pretty patchwork here.

Finally, there is a mega amount of sweetness here.

Just don't blame me if you don't get any work done.

Pretty thrifty Fabrics

Make pretty nifty dresses

For small pandas.

Basic panda pattern from this book.

It took me longer to make the dress than it did to make the panda, so I am totally in awe of Christina who can stitch such beautiful tiny clothes as these. Amazing.

My blog is a year old tomorrow, Happy Bloggy Birthday to me !

Juju  mailed me recently, to say that, 'Surely I wasn't still reading the 'Kenneth Williams Diaries' ?'

In other words, I have updated a single thing on my blog since I first started, which is a pretty poor show. Bad me.

New look blog coming soon. ( Once I figure out how to do it all again ).

All sorts of Fridays

WIP Friday.

Img_1449

I've gone stamping crazy. It's soooo addictive !

Red Friday

Img_1450

Acrylic on canvas, painted by Molly and me.

Obviously *very* inspired by Mark Rothko - my all time favourite artist.

I'd like to wake up to a whole wall of this, so if whoever owns the original wants to give it to me, that would be lovely. Thank you.

And silly me. I nearly forgot this sort of Red Friday.

Chairs ! ( that's how you pronounce cheers, if you're a toff ).

Like what I am.

Grey/Black Wednesday. Scary Saturdays.

My wednesday contribution to Mav and Stephanie's colour week.

Be afraid.

Be very afraid.

We are Dr Who crazy in this house.

If you don't live in the U.K, and you haven't seen series two of Dr Who, and you can't possibly imagine that anyone could be as good as Christopher Eccleston - don't worry. We very quickly warmed to David Tennant, and the 2nd episode of a two-parter we watched on Saturday (The Satan Pit), had me rooted to the spot. I swear to God I forgot to breath towards the end.

It was the talk of the playground on Monday morning, I can tell you.

Some of the episodes are quite scary for little ones (and me), but it's 'Good versus Evil' stuff, with 'good' always winning in the end.

Or maybe not.

You'll have to wait and see.

Messiness

Fiona has started up a  WIP (work in progress) Friday theme.

If you are easily frightened please look away.

Img_1431

This is how I work. It's not pretty is it ?

Img_1433

There's a tiny tortoise in there somewhere - it's no wonder Molly can make off with things before I realise they've gone missing. And I'm a dreadful hypocrite, because if anyone else made a mess like this in the house, I'd kick their arse.

At least it's a creative mess though , so that makes it o.k in my mind. Right ?

Here are much prettier things to look at from Marion, Cecile ,Sophie, Sarah, Alex and her friend Sabine. I could go on and on linking to lovely blogs, but this sun is still shining here (miraculously) and I'll save the rest for a rainy day.

Look what I got...

Benny !

Sweet sweet Benny, who's come to play a little music at our house.

Look at the cute violin case. : )

Made by my lovely friend Theresa, and look what came with him.

Img_1406

Lots and lots of handmade, paper goodies,

EEEEEEEE - the sock monkey stationery !

Thank you so much Theresa, we love him very much.

There is an all out cat- fight between Molly and I whenever something from Theresa comes in the post.

I realised this morning that Benny's violin had gone missing, after turning my craft room upside down, I eventually found it in Molly's secret stash box

Img_1345

I'm not sure, but it looks like you can print images of this quality directly onto fabric,

Img_1346

If that's the case, I'm moving to Japan.

In the meantime, we are off to the seaside for an hour or two.

I hope the sun is shining on you too.  : )

Happy happy weekend everyone !
