Finished

Never again,

Img_6277

why I thought embarking on this was a good idea, when I'm a self-confessed flitty-fluttery butterfly brain - is beyond me.

Img_6298_2

It wasn't crocheting the squares that nearly drove me doo-lally, that part was fun and relaxing.

Img_6232

And it wasn't joining them together ( I used the decorative ridge method shown here ).

Img_6280

It was the bloody weaving in of all those ends - 6 colours in each square - 2 ends per colour - 81 squares = 972 sodding ends. Like I said, NEVER AGAIN.

The only thing that makes me still like it, is the fact that I crocheted most of it while watching Doctor Who ,so when I look at it, I think of David. And while I'm on the subject of the great one, there are some people out there who mistakingly think that David is their David  (you know who you are Gemma ).

Can I just clear this up once and for all. He is *MY* David . And that ' he's a Timelord - we can all share him' theory wont wash with me Missy Gemma.

And an etsy shop.

And a book - I'll definitely be ordering that one.

Update - and a website.

wishes you a happy weekend.

And I do too.

Thursday the 13th

  1. First thing this morning I stepped (barefoot) on the mother of all slugs.
  2. Second thing this morning, I walked the children to school with the back of my skirt tucked inside my knickers. The only reason I found out is due to a rather handsome young man slowing down his car and hollering this information out of the window.

I can't *wait* to see what happens next.

And I pity the unfortunate handsome young man, who started his day with the sight of my big fat arse wobbling up the road first thing in the morning.

Just

Well, I did it. I survived another long school summer holiday. My ears and my nerves are battered and shattered but I survived.

Just.

Anybody else find being a parent hard sometimes ?

Good, I thought so. I'm just going to stop typing for a moment and give all of you Mamas a great big hug.

(((   )))

Did you feel it ?

Anyway, at last I can feel my crafting mojo returning, I sat in the garden yesterday and sewed a little sewing,

Img_6056

mini tissue holders for Molly and her friend Ellie to put in their school bags. I could say that I made them mini size to fit in their pockets, but that would be a lie. They are mini because I completely buggered up the measurements and had to fold the tissues in half to make them fit.  They do fit in little girl's pockets though, so it's a happy accident as opposed to a complete f*%^ up. ( Do excuse my bad language - thats another thing I'll blame on the school holidays).

I also at last had time to peruse the pages of my latest Cotton Time mag,
