Hop.

IMG_9329

there's a bunny in my shop.

This is the last thing I will be putting up for sale before Christmas, because I really need to think about gift and Christmas card purchasing, and I really really need to tidy my house. And I also hope to put up a Christmas angel tutorial within the next week.

So I'll see you soon.

kiss kiss.

In

my

shop.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, I shall be visiting my Mum - who last week kept us entertained throughout sunday lunch by telling us in great detail how, where, and when, her constipation issues were resolved.

And then went on to inform my 10 and 8 year old children that there is such a thing as a wig for your 'nether regions'.

Needless to say she didn't use the words 'nether regions'.

Thanks Mum.

If you want to see a photo of my dear old sweet old 85 year old Mother hop over to my sister's blog

and don't say I didn't warn you.

A word from the wise

If ever you go to a famously funky store in New York and see a charming doll's house bag, and say to yourself "I can *easily* do that", and then decide to make one for a gift for someone...

Think twice.

IMG_9184

I really bloody hate zips. And sewing through thick blanket, stiff lining and a bloody zip is a nightmare.

I thought I would be able to knock this out pretty easily, but 3 days later and a very sore finger (hate thimbles too), I never want to make one again. The basic concept is easy to design, but lots of things went pear shaped in the making of it, the worst being the lining for the roof - who knew that triangles could cause so much grief ? Not me.

My advice is, go buy one.

Except that I wouldn't be able to afford it.

I think I'll stick to making things like these

IMG_9176

two little dollies to go inside the house, using the same method as my hedgie tutorial but with hair instead of spikes,

and this.

Who will hopefully be up for sale next week along with his brother and sister. Once my poor finger recovers (winge winge) and I finish their hats.

Thank you so much for your good wishes for my loved one,who is now in good health and on the road to recovery. : )

Have a lovely weekend.

A little boy named Tracey

In a pair of trousers,

and a hat that his Mummy says he will grow into,

and a snuggle sack.

Because Mummies know that they have to keep their babies nice and warm now that winter is approaching.

William and Marjorie

William the little wolf puppy

Img_5761

William is a 6" tall mohair wolf, with cotter pin-jointed head and thread jointed arms and legs. Being very young, he's not quite house-trained so is wearing his favourite pair of quick-to-pull-off lucky pants.

William has a best friend called Marjorie

Img_5772

she's a 1/2" high mohair elephant, who worships the ground William walks on.

William in turn is a vegetarian and would never dream of harming - let alone eating, any kind of animal or human. In fact, Red Riding Hood is also one of his best friends.

William has a favourite slipper toy

Img_5774

which he likes to put on his nose

Img_5775

?

And he loves to roll around on the floor playing with his jingly ball and his bone.

Img_5782

When he's finished playing he likes to have a munch on his chew sticks,

Img_5784

(he's teething you know, and it's very tough to be teething when you're a wolf cub).

And then likes to have a little nap in his bed with his friends -

Img_5788

Img_5794

all tucked up in his favourite blankie.

William will be up for sale at the one in ten auction beginning on august 19th.

Please note...William is very sweet, playful, and loving, however, he will need a firm hand in his raising because he is after all, a wild animal.

Thank you for looking and have a great weekend .

Due to constant fighting, I'm afraid they need to be separated.

These little girls are 6"/15cm tall, made from twirly-curly mohair, with a cotter-pin jointed head, thread jointed arms and legs, and 100% wool stuffing. They are wearing lined, removeable dresses, and come with their own matchy-matchy snuggle sacs.

This week's wip

Img_4731

making dresses for little girls

Img_4760

who find it very hard to sit still.

Img_4777

Next I'll be deciding on fabrics to make my bag.

Then later I'll be looking at this found via We made this, and then I shall flicker over to read the captions and the comments on my favourite flickr person's photo's.

He's as mad as a bush you know.

(mad as in 'crazy' mad, this is a local expression, but some of you might find it rather appropriate to your part of the world).

As for me, I couldn't possibly comment.

Next week's wips,

putting together an Easter Mama and Baby bird tutorial, and sorting out that list of my favourite craft books.

But first I must finish this week's wip,

Triplets. Or ' Triblets' - as Molly calls them.

Hope you have a fun-filled weekend.
