It's full sewing steam ahead, now the children have gone back to school- Oh, the glorious, blissful silence !
I managed to get this finished today for the Quilts for Katrina project.
It was inspired by Amy's lovely contribution and her recent post on redwork, in fact, everything thing that Amy does is inspiring, I am in awe.
The quilts are to be auctioned off on e-bay or etsy when completed and they look like they're going to be real beauties.
This is who arrived today, all the way from Australia.
Isn't she the sweetest thing ?.
She was made by the very talented Melissa and she's the cutest little dolly I've ever seen, even Molly loves her and Molly doesn't 'do' dollies. I've put her on my shelf so she sits smiling at me while I'm sewing.

Lots of lovely bags in this one
Bags for holding c.d's , cameras and I-pods,
I like this one.
I'd like to see this one slung over my shoulder, when riding my bike ( if I had one),
and a very cute little doggy bag, I'm not sure how practical this one is, but who cares ?. There are also pot holders, oven gloves, book covers, softies, cushions and eye masks.
So much to try and so little time, in fact , just thinking about all these projects makes a girl tired, so Nika and I are off to bed.

Here's a 'how-to' for a little purse that's quick and easy to do.
Cut two rectangles measuring 31 x 15cm or 12.5 x 6", one from your main fabric and one from your lining.
Decorate the front of your purse however you choose to, I've cut a simple bunny from felt.

With right sides together, stitch your two pieces leaving a gap as shown.
Turn right side out and hand stitch gap closed.
Fold over, about 11cm or 4.5" from bottom edge to make your purse shape, and then blanket stitch the sides together.
Blanket stitch around the remaining edges and you're done.
I've used a snap fastener to secure it, but I forgot to take a photo of that and it would have been a boring photo anyway.
