Ginger is a little small kitten (only 6" tall in fact), who is made from a very soft mohair and 100% wool stuffing , she has a fixed head and poseable thread-jointed arms and legs

That's better. She has a reversible dress

 

a flowery headband,

a reversible bib and quilted blankie, and her little pet cat Charlie.

Charlie is hiding away - silly Charlie.

Oh no - and now he's fallen over and bumped his head. :  (

Cuddle him up Ginger.

zzzzzz...

Ginger and Charlie will come to you in little painted box , along with a mousey hat and a scarf for Ginger ...

because it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

Ginger and Charlie will be up for grabs at the Kim family auction in the new year.

I doubt I shall have the chance to check in again before the holidays, we have this naughty boy coming to stay tomorrow, and I suspect I shall be far too busy showering him with kisses to blog.

So I'd like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas

and happiness, peace and love always.

Hmmm...

Somehow, it appears to be nearly Christmas. And somehow,it appears that I haven't bought any presents yet.

I'm not quite sure how that's happened, but then I do I rather enjoy rushing around like a headless chicken, and it all gets done in the end. Apart from the year when I forgot to buy any carrots and we didn't have a carrot to leave out for Rudolph, but let's not talk about that - let's talk about this...

A little diversion for we ladies who would rather sew than shop ( unless it's shopping for sewing stuff of course). Anyway, this is a recent purchase from yesasia, and it's lovely.

Very cute dollies and their pets, and such cute clothes too. You could buy it for yourself for Christmas - that's what I've done.  : )

Hello again

Shop' s up !

Late

If anyone is checking in for a shop update, I'm really sorry but I'm running a day late. I seem to have been sucked into some sort of parallel universe this week where time is going twice as fast as it usually does. I think it's called ' The run up to Christmas' Universe ?

Well, anyway, my little shop is nearly all ready to go and will be open tomorrow morning, here's a little sneaky peeky.

Oh, and the little birds in the shop banner ( that banner only took me an hour to do - I'm getting better ! ) are a project shortly destined for Kiddley ( honest Claire they're on their way ).

Baby boots... Crash ?

Here goes, I'm going to try and do this but my computer keeps crashing, if there are any glaring errors I'll put them right asap. Here comes a poor quality photo again, I still haven't sussed out what's wrong with the scanner.

Enlarge to whatever size you wish, just measure the length of baby's ( or Mama's ) foot.

Cut 4 boot pieces and 2 sole pieces as shown. Now do the same for the lining.

The easiest way to do this is to lay your fabric right sides together, and then pin and cut out together.

Pin and stitch the sides of each boot ( right sides together)

And then stitch the boot to the sole as shown, don't forget to mark the front and back centre points on the soles - it makes it a lot easier to position correctly.

Now turn under and press a small hem at the top of each boot and it's lining.

Now slot the lining into it's boot with wrong sides together,

Finish off with a decorative stitch to close

and maybe some yo-yo's. There's a great tutorial at Heather's. 

I suspect Mummy's have been making booties like these for their babes since time began, so I'm not taking any credit for the design. In fact I just changed the shape slightly from a pattern in a 1920's book, so have fun and do with them what you will.Love them, sell them, I shan't mind at all.  :  )

I'm planning on having the shop ready on Tuesday, there will be some small bears ( boys and girls ),a bunny, some purses, and some odds and sods.
