This week's wips
Assembling Arthur's ensemble.
Finishing Fifi's feet.
Fifi was made from a pattern ( tweaked a bit - I made her body smaller, added a hat and tail and changed her feet/beak ) in my most favourite Japanese craft book ever.
It's such a brilliant book, with really easy to follow patterns of the most adorable softies. The bad news is that it's really hard to get hold of. The good news is I found it here. The bad news is, it looks like they only ship to the States and Cananda. : (
I'll carry on looking on-line later and will up-date if I find it elsewhere.
Have a sooper-dooper weekend everyone.

FIFI is really cute; I would never guess she is from that book. Lucky me; I have that book!!!(Lily and Shirley are in it)
I like the way you tweaked it. Are those pipecleaners with cloth around for legs? How do you attach them to the body? And I didn't see the pattern for the feet on page 96--I'm curious how you attached those as well...all these technical questions for you today--can you tell I'm getting ready to sew again? AND today I am making papermache easter eggs so I might just have to make one of these chicks for myself.

That tweetie is incredibly sweet. I have that book too, and was planning on doing the bunny on the cover soon!

That is one of my absolute favourite Japanese craft books too (not that I have that many!). The photography is so lovely and all the plushies are brilliant, with even a few amigurumis thrown in for good measure - it's a great book!

just so so adorable and sweet! :)

That's exactly the book I'm looking for. It doesn't seem to be available under the link you posted - I couldn't put it into the cart! Amazon.JP is much too expensive - that must be 10 times the original price! If anyone doesn't need his copy of the book anymore, please holler!
Love that bird and would have the same questions as Theresa.

Hi Lynn,
Did you get my email about getting Japanese books in London at a bookshop? Reading this post reminded me that I hadn't heard back from you. Simmy

It seems that one can order that nuigurumi book when one uses the "Special Order Form - books" on the left hand side.
Unfortunaltely I live in Germany...

:-( I just took a look at the price at amazon.jp, you're right, it's very expensive. I know some friends of mine use another site to buy japanese books/magazines very cheap, I'll let you know the address as soon as I have it.

You can also buy Japanese crafts books/magazines here: YesAsia (http://global.yesasia.com/en/index.aspx), but this one is out of stock.

Black Friday! I tried to order the book through a friend of a friend in the US and just got a mail that Fujisan can't deliver either. It's out of stock/print. Well, we knew it, didn't we?
