That was beautiful. There're tears in my eyes! I remember reading the Born Free books when I was in middle school, but I had no idea George had been killed later on. How sad that so many, like Dian Fossey, are killed trying to save God's creatures?
Thanks for the links!
I'm blubbing like a right wuss now. I def think there is a link between humans and animals who have been close. So lovely for the 2 men that their last meeting with Christian was captured on film.
I saw this video about a week ago. I guess I'm old now when I say I remember "Born Free." In fact, it was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. :-)
wow, i have wonky hormones i think, so that made me cry - sniff- i was stunned the the lion turned up after staying away from camp all that time, as if he knew... i want to make a lion now ...
This is a wonderful story, us Brits sure do have a thing for animals. I remembered the film Born Free and this story seems familiar also. But it all happened when i was three....
i think i forgot to comment last week. i read the story & watched the video and couldn't believe my eyes! what a lovely find! thank you soooo much for posting this. i find myself thinking about this story a lot...
